Samsung managed to sell 1.2 million units of smart watches in 2014. The second position is occupied by Pebble with a turnover of 700 thousand units, followed Fitbit with 600 thousand, Sony 550 thousand, and Lenovo 500 thousand units.
Positions 6-10 occupied by LG with sales of 420 thousand units, Garmin 400 thousand, 170 thousand Withings, Polar 150 thousand, and the Asus 120 thousand.
The Samsung as 'the king of smartwatch' so far has released a number smart watch supported by the operating system (OS) Android Tizen and Wear. One of them is the Samsung Gear S-based Tizen OS. Similarly, as reported by Phone Arena, Friday (13/03/2015).
Samsung dominance is not much different from the rate in the smartphone market. The South Korean company will soon face its main competitor, Apple, who are preparing to market smartwatch next month.
Apple will start selling Apple Watch on April 24, 2015 while the pre-order will be held on 10 April 2015.
